Satisfy Your Wardrobe

Here are some of the most important things that are must-haves for your wardrobe.

  1. Lingerie (for some of us)
  2. A Dress (one that is appropriate for work and can be casual)
  3. A Suit (in black or navy that can work for various seasons)
  4. Cardigans (have some in neutral colors as well as brighter color that work well with you skin tone to add a slight pop)
  5. Button Ups (have a variety of them. Ruffled, pleated, plain, etc.. a girl's gotta have choices)
  6. The Fav Five Tops (v-neck, classic, scoop neck, turtle neck and boatneck. Go for these tops in various colors. Go for styles that you can dress up and dress down)
  7. Jeans (it's important to have a few pairs of comfortable denim to run errands or lounge around in)
  8. Brown or Black Pumps (go with just about everything)
  9. Coats (coats and jacket to fit any occasion or season. Be prepared)
  10. Work Wear (somewhat acts like a seperate wardrobe. Most like to split their closet up by casual and then their wor clothes just to keep it easy)

Back to the Basics..

(TOP BY CHARLOTTE RUSSE, JEANS BY PACSUN, ACCESSORIES BY CLAIRE'S AND NEW YORK & COMPANY)

I love doing outfits that are simple but yet cute. Sometimes you just need a break from being so dressy-dressy and just go plain-jane sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I still love to get creative and dress up but for those simple days I love to go overboard with my accessories! Yes, I said it! Go overboard! I like to wear multiple chains/necklaces together and mix gold and silver jewelry together..(whoever came up with that rule that you can't mix them together anyway??) Any who, I'm proud to say that I'm a rule breaker and I happily enjoy it.

Although, I can say to an extent I enjoy seeing my mother get a kick out of some of the crazy combinations I do sometimes..but it makes me laugh. Everyone has their OWN personal style and everyone may not understand why you do or wear the things you wear but it is about what makes your heart flutter and what makes you happy. Hey, just like my blog header quote says, "Don't worry about being like the rest. Just be you. Be original. At the end of the day people are going to love you for being you and not trying to be like someone else." That has to one of the best quotes I've came up with, lol.

What does your style say about you?

xoxo,
Ashley

How to Put an Outfit Together

If you are trying to put together the perfect outfit, make sure you consider the occasion because you don’t want to be over dressed or look to formal and make sure you know what styles fit your body type best. Feel free to look in fashion magazines as well to help you gain some inspiration.

If you pretty much have in mind what you are looking for, an easy way to stay on track is to make a list of what you want so that way you stay focused and only shop for what you need. (Some of us go into a store shopping for a dress and walk out with an entire outfit! So try and stay on track. Plus it will help you same some $$)

When you go shopping remember to always try your clothes on. It is the most important part of putting an outfit together because you need to make sure that all of your clothes fit appropriately and that they are the right size, compliment your shape and doesn’t hide your shape. Show it off! Also be sure to do your shopping when you have quite a bit of time on your hands. If you rush your shopping then it could turn into a big disaster so you want to take your time with decision making for all of your outfits.

Most people when they shop for an outfit they forget all about shoes. Usually, the shoes are the last thing that people focus on but be careful when doing that. To be safe, look around and consider some options for shoes and you go around getting your outfit together. You don’t want to have the perfect outfits with the wrong shoes (just because you forgot to pick some up or the fact that it slipped your mind) don’t make getting shoes your last priority it is just as important as everything else that you are shopping for.

The important part to finish off you outfit is to add the perfect accessories, whether it’s a hat, belt, a purse, earrings, a necklace or anything. The accessories you use can either make or break your outfit. You can have too much going on or not enough. Make sure that it’s the right amount. If you are wearing something with a lot of bling all over or around the neckline, make sure you do a simple necklace or no necklace at all and then include dangling earrings (or studs) and a nice bracelet.

That’s all you need. Just make sure that you go through everything and consider every part of your outfit because that is what’s going to make it fabulous! Also, the day of getting dressed up into you outfit, allow yourself enough time to prepare and get ready. It is important to not rush into the outfit that you spent so much time putting together so you are sure to look your best! =)
