Creating Your Personal Style

Creating your own personal style doesn't always come easy to everyone. For some, it takes more time and research. Yes, research. This will help you figure what it is that makes your style unique. Everyone has a style whether you know what it is or not. Here are a few steps to help you get started:

1. Get Rid of Everything That Isn't You
Sometimes we buy things and at the moment we love it, then later we realize that we hate it and isn't a reflection of us or our style.

2. Know Your Body & Colors
Make sure that you know your body, what shapes and colors flatter your skin tones and shape. Certain colors are slimming and others can make you look bigger.

3. Develop Your Signature Piece
Pieces that you wear with almost all of your outfits or a way you always put your outfits together. (always wearing heels, jeans, sunglasses, a dress, a hairstyle, etc) (bright colors, dark colors, vintage, bold, etc)

4. Mix Multiple Styles Into One
This will help create the ultimate personal style.

5. Know What You Like & Dislike About Yourself
Helps you to know what parts to highlight and which to hide. If you live your legs, show them off! If you live your shoulders, wear one shoulder tops, tops with both shoulders out or tube tops.

6. Keep Your Style In Mind Next Time You Shop
Before you shop again make sure that you know what you "need" and "want". Resist going for trendy items because your staple pieces should always come first! (then the trends). Make a list of before you go shopping and stick to it!

Tip: Keep in mind that your personal style and your wardrobe should also be a reflection of your lifestyle.
